Guidelines for Submitting Programs for the Fast Lane
Each program blurb should include the name of the program, day of the
week, date and time, and a very brief, but informative description. The title goes on the first line; the day,
date and time go on the second line; and the description starts on the third
line. For children’s programs and
sometimes teens, the age group should be listed on its own line below the date
and time. There are occasionally
exceptions to this format for a program with topics on multiple dates. Submit those with all information and we will
reformat as necessary.
The preferred font is Garamond 12 point. Please bold only the title of the program and
use initial caps for each word in the title.
When writing times, always use the format: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. There are many formats for writing times, but
for consistency, this is always how it will be printed in the Fast Lane. A span of dates should also follow the same
format: September 19 – November 21. (Watch those dashes! They can be tricky.)
Please make sure to note any programs that require a parent/guardian
and/or registration. If you put a note
in parenthesis after the description, we’ll translate it into the appropriate
symbol.
Example program submission:
200 Years of Ghosts
Thursday, October 23, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Ohio author, Chris Woodyard will share some stories from her new book, Haunted
Ohio V that will be sure to get you in the Halloween mood! Book sale will follow the program.
I hope these guidelines make this an easier process for everyone. We appreciate your help!
